What Can YOU Do? Outreach Toolkit

Promote the Campaign for Disability Employment in Your Organization or Local Community!
You can help us bring the Campaign for Disability Employment to life in your own state, municipality or company. The following ideas and materials can help:

Issue a Campaign for Disability Employment press release – Organizations can issue a press release to local media to announce their support of the What Can YOU Do? effort. To assist, a “fill-in-the-blank” template is available that organizations can quickly customize and pitch to their local media.

Create a disability employment display – Now is a great time to freshen up bulletin boards in locations that employees or constituents frequent by posting positive messages about the importance of a flexible and inclusive workplace. Start by printing and displaying one of our What Can YOU Do? posters.

Feel free to reproduce one or more of our "drop-in" articles or run our ad copy page in your publication.

Hold an event celebrating the What Can YOU Do? campaign – A social event with plenty of food, fun and educational programming can help reinforce the importance of an inclusive workplace. Enlist a speaker to deliver disability employment talking points and play the “I Can” public service announcement at the event. You could also invite local employers and employees with disabilities to share their experiences and insights.

Employers and organizations that conduct these or any other activities in support of the
Campaign for Disability Employment are encouraged to let us know.
